TCSD BIKE WORKOUT WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH @ 6PM

This week's bike workout is hill repeats.
The Mission Bay workout starts at the top of Mount Soledad as usual. There are two options, and easier and a hard workout. The easier workout will be 5 laps of a 1.5 mile loop on Cardeno and Castrejon, working on our descending and climbing skilss. A map of the route is at: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/la%20jolla/307370554600. The "hardcore" workout is 3 laps on Via Capri from Torrey Pines up to the cross and back. This workout is VERY challenging both climbing and descending!

North County workout will follow the same route as the previous workout. Starting at the Southwest corner of Scripps Poway Parkway and Pomerado Road in the parking lot of the shopping center. The route heads up Pomerado Road to Cypress Canyon Park, follows Cypress Canyon Park to Candy Rose Way, down to Scripps Poway Parkway back to Pomerado Road for another loop. The route is about 2.5 miles with a mile climb and the workout is completing 3-5 loops, staying in your aerobars on the way up and maintaining a gear combination that allows you to pedal at an 80+ cadence. As with all workouts, train at your own fitness and skill level. A bike and helmet are mandatory; hydration and an HRM are a good idea. For those wanting to run after don't forget your running shoes.
